I Lose Track Of The Days

I am in a really weird state of mind right now, I think it's probably because my neighbors next door had one of their Friday night "We will listen to BAD HIP-HOP, very LOUDLY, until 4 AM!" shindigs, and I had to get up early because Saturday morning is my early morning training day at the gym. I have to get up even earlier than my appointment time because I have to eat something with enough time for it to digest before the workout.

So I got, like, no sleep last night. Or sporadic amounts. So I think I'm just really, really tired right now, and apt to do any damn thing. My grandfather used to say, "Get out of here before I give you all my money!" If you were here now, I might say something like that to you.

That said, I felt very focused all day long, and I notice that the sorts of things that get me to procrastinate and NOT do music are not having their typical effect. I take this as a good sign. I'm living in a weird kind of Never Neverland right now, with the whole "not having a job thing", which is great for having time for doing music, but not great for the stress level. Hopefully, though, I am getting into some good habits that will serve me well for the remainder of the year.

God, it's a whole year.

Well, track 2 is done, and it will be ready for you on time. I really like it, I hope you do as well, but it's OK if you don't. Two down, fifty to go.

Today Lizzy came over and tracked a bass part on the instrumental that I've been calling "Spokane" for a long time, but I don't think it will be called "Spokane" when you hear it. The bass part is holymotherofGOD hard, but Lizzy was a trooper, and after editing together the best takes, we have a winnah. I also started working on my guitar part (this thing is all through-composed), and I'm about halfway done with it. It's just stupid, and really tough to remember. But, I only have to play it once!

When you hear this song, entertain yourself with the knowledge that it was originally written to be the middle section of the song that eventually became Life Like Luster's "Fair Use." You will laugh loudly and long when this realization hits you.
